Aaron is a Medical Oncologist at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), having completed his specialty training in Medical Oncology in Sydney, Australia. He also completed a PhD in cancer drug discovery at The University of Sydney. At NCCS, he completed a fellowship in drug development/early phase trials and lung cancer translational research. This includes an International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) Fellowship, which provided funding for a study of liquid biopsies to investigate MRD and early detection of recurrence in resected early stage lung cancers.

Dr Aneez D.B Ahmed is currently the Director & Senior Consultant Surgeon at International Centre for Thoracic Surgery in Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre, Singapore. He has been a practitioner in the field of thoracic surgery, with a special interest in thoracic oncology, for more than fifteen years. After completion of his cardiothoracic training from National University Hospital, Singapore, he passed his Fellowship exams from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Prior to starting his private practice, Dr Aneez served as the Head of Service of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of General Surgery in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Singapore. His interest in robotic surgery led him to be recognised as the first in the ASEAN cohort to get a Level III Certificate Specialist training in Robotic Thoracic Surgery from the European College of Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS). With sabbaticals in Europe and USA for advanced training in Robotic Thoracic surgery, he now leads the training program for thoracic surgeons in ASEAN and South Asia. He then became the Vice President of Robotic Surgical Society of Singapore (RS3) in 2016 and subsequently being nominated as the President of RS3 in 2019. His special interest in chest wall surgery led him to be a pioneer in Chest Wall Resection and Reconstruction. Dr Aneez had also performed the world’s first 3D Printed Polymer Ribcage Reconstruction. Dr Aneez is a member of various thoracic surgical groups internationally. He is also the Thoracic domain board member at the Asian Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery (ASCVTS), and he is the current General Secretary of the South East Asian Society of Thoracic Surgery (SEATS). His expertise and knowledge in minimally invasive thoracic surgery have led to numerous invitations as a speaker to conferences and workshops in the region. He also receives referrals from other hospitals in the country and other regions such as Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and the U.A.E. Besides clinical works, Dr Aneez is passionate about teaching. Since 2010, Dr Aneez piloted a program in Advanced Thoracic Nursing Course (ATNC) at TTSH that has been running annually to train nurses from all over Asia. He is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

She received the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) Fellowship Award and the University of Melbourne Postgraduate Award and completed a PhD research on the study of tumour microenvironment and biomarkers in malignant mesothelioma for oncogenic targeted therapies. She is the principal investigator or co-investigator for several international multi-centre cancer clinical trials and published numerous first-author papers in her speciality of interest.

She currently serves as Head of Department of Breast and Medical Oncology and Director of Comprehensive Cancer Center at National Center for Global Health and Medicine. She has had special interest in breast cancer in young women, which led her to develop the first onco-fertility guideline in Japan.

Dr David Tan is a medical oncologist and clinician scientist at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore. He is an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS and Principal Investigator at the Cancer Science Institute, NUS. He is also Head of the Innovation Transfer Office at National University Health Systems (NUHS). His primary clinical and research interests are in gynaecological (ovarian, endometrial and cervical) cancers and the development of novel anti-cancer therapeutic agents. Dr Tan graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine, University of London, UK with a BSc in Experimental Pathology (1st Class Honours) and MBBS with Distinction. He undertook training in internal medicine at Hammersmith Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London before being awarded a Cancer Research UK Research Fellowship at The Institute of Cancer Research in London, where he obtained his PhD in Oncology. He subsequently completed his specialist training in medical oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London. After working in the Drug Development Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital/ Institute of Cancer Research, he completed another fellowship at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University of Toronto, Canada, in Drug Development and Gynaecologic Oncology before returning back to Singapore.

Dr. Iain Tan is a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist, leading the colorectal cancer service in Division of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Centre Singapore. He is the director of research for the division of Medical Oncology and the director of the NCCS-Satellite Tissue Repository. He is a clinician scientist (twice NMRC CSA awardee) and assistant professor at Duke-NUS and faculty member and principal investigator of the laboratory of applied cancer genomics in the Precision Medicine And Population Genomics program at Genome Institute of Singapore, A-Star and adjunct faculty at Cancer & Stem Cell Biology Program at Duke-NUS. He has published widely with over 80 publications (h-index 36) including first or senior/corresponding author publications in Journal of Clinical Oncology, Nature Genetics, Nature Medicine, Nature, JAMA. He has obtained numerous individual competitive grants (CS-IRG, CSA, IAF-ICP), is the corresponding principal investigator of a national collaborative grant on cancer liquid biopsies (IAF-PP, Calibre, $15 million) and is the co-investigator, theme or platform PI of other national collaborative projects (LCGs & IAF-PPs). He mentors multiple junior clinician scientists (mentor for 2 NMRC transition awardees) post-docs, PhD students including clinician scientist PhD students. His research focuses on the immuno-biology of colorectal cancer and non-invasive diagnostics. He is a member of the resident advisory committee and the chairman of the exit examinations for Medical Oncology. For his research, he has received the ASCO Young Investigator Award (2010) and ASCO Merit Award (2011). For his research and clinical service, he received the National Youth Award (2014), the country’s highest award for youths.

She has been Chair of the National Healthcare Group Domain-Specific Ethics Review Board B since 2008. She is also a member of the Singapore Ministry of Health Drug Advisory Committee for Oncology drugs. She specialises in breast cancer and directs the Cancer Genetics program at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore. Her research focus is on breast cancer, pharmacogenetics and cancer genetics, and she has been the Principal Investigator of more than 40 industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated breast cancer clinical trials. She directs the Haematology-Oncology Research Group, a cancer clinical trials unit that conducts 100-120 phase I-III therapeutics clinical trials in solid tumours and haematological malignancies at the National University Cancer Institute.

She was a recipient of Singapore Health Quality Service Awards 2017. Her clinical and research interests include Cancer Genetics, Inherited Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome and Hereditary Haematological Malignancies. Assistant Professor Ng graduated from Otago Medical School in New Zealand in 1994 and attained his specialist oncology fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2004. Following this he spent a year as a Clinical Research Fellow at Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia and subsequently an additional two years as a Clinical Fellow at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. His work in Canada focused primarily on clinical care as well as a special interest on health outcomes research in breast and lung cancer. He returned to Singapore in 2007 at the National Cancer Centre Singapore and is now currently a Senior Consultant within the breast oncology team. In this intervening period he also completed a Master in Public Health in 2010. He is also passionate about medical education and spends part of his time every week lecturing and mentoring medical students at the University

Professor Popat has both a private and an NHS practice at The Royal Marsden. He is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden, Professor of Thoracic Oncology at the Institute of Cancer Research, and is an internationally recognized expert in the treatment of lung cancer, mesothelioma and cancers of the thymus (thymoma and thymic carcinoma). Professor Popat qualified in 1994 from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals with triple distinction and was awarded a PhD in Molecular Genetics in 2002, undertaking a postdoctoral Clinician Scientist Fellowship and a HEFCE Clinical Senior Lectureship thereafter. He has been awarded nationally and internationally competitive prizes for his research, in addition to four research fellowships. His research interests include the complexities of genetic profiling in cancer, as well as developing novel drug treatments through clinical trials. He also holds several national and international roles. Nationally, Professor Popat Chairs the British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) Steering Committee, is Co-Director for the NIHR London South Clinical Research Network Cancer Division, the NIHR Lung Cancer National Specialty Lead and is past Sub-group Chair of the NCRI Lung Group. Internationally, he sits on the Foundation Council of the European Thoracic Oncology Platform (ETOP) and is active in the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) where he has co-authored European Clinical Practice Guidelines for Small Cell Lung Cancer, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, and Mesothelioma. His research collaborations with industry have led to licensing of several drugs globally, leading to implementation in International treatment guidelines and NHS funding approvals. Professor Popat is often an invited Clinical Expert to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and sits on several committees overseeing the safety and governance for ongoing UK and international clinical trials. Sanjay is a strong advocate for patient education and support and is clinical advisor to several patient-facing cancer charities.

Professor Tony S.K. Mok, BMSc, MD, FRCP(C), FRCP(Edin), FHKCP, FHKAM(Medicine), FASCO was trained at the University of Alberta, Canada and he subsequently completed a fellowship in medical oncology at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. After working as a community oncologist in Toronto, Canada for seven years, he returned to Hong Kong in 1996 to pursue an academic career. Professor Mok is the Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation endowed Professor and Chairman of Department of Clinical Oncology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His main research interest focuses on biomarker and molecular targeted therapy in lung cancer. He was the Principal Investigator and first author on the landmark IPASS, which was the first study that confirmed the application of precision medicine for advanced lung cancer. He has also led and co-led multiple international phase III studies including the FASTACT 2, PROFILE 1014, IMPRESS, ARCHER 1050, ALEX, AURA 3 and KEYNOTE 042. These projects address various aspects on management of advanced lung cancer, and basically have defined the current practice. He dedicates his work on precision medicine for lung cancer by also engaging in clinical research on oncogene driven lung cancer and immunotherapy. His work has been adopted by multiple international guidelines including NCCN, AMP/IASLC/CAP, ASCO and ESMO. He also contributes to the development of clinical research infra-structure in China and Asia. He cofounded the Lung Cancer Research Group, Chinese Thoracic Oncology Research Group and Asia Thoracic Oncology Research Group.
